East Stroudsburg University Communication Sciences and Disorders

It is the mission of the undergraduate program in Communication Sciences & Disorders to provide a rigorous academic program which prepares students to succeed in a graduate program in either speech-language pathology or audiology.

When entering the program, students will begin taking Communication Sciences & Disorders courses as a freshman, or as soon as the decision to enter the program has been made. It is also possible to enroll in introductory Communication Sciences and Disorders courses to explore this field. A plan of study is made up by the chair for all major students, thus guaranteeing your class placement for department courses.

The Communication Sciences & Disorders major consists of 33 required credits and 17-20 co-requisite credits. Elective classes such as Introduction to Sign Language and Communication of Aging are offered to majors and non-majors to explore the vast field of communication sciences and disorders.

This program is small which allows more opportunities for assistance and guidance. The undergraduate program prepares students for future graduate programs and professional development.
